John D. BERNAL (1901-1971)
The Physical Basis of Life, London, Routledge and Kegan Paul, 1952
A British physicist whom Feldenkrais met (between 1940 and 1951) during his stay in the UK[1] and who was also a friend of Frédéric Joliot-Curie. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1937. An active Communist Party activist from 1923 to 1933, he was also committed to the cause of peace between men, and chaired the World Peace Council from 1958 until his death.
